My contribution to our game project one. We did a pixel art vertical scroller and I was in charge of making most assets, tile sets, characters and props.
We had a total of 2 weeks to create a game. Our game is about gathering ingredients while escaping lava to have something to cook at the end of the game.
For the tiles it was important to have create seamless tiles as well as 4 versions that could be randomised or manually set by our game designers, in order to make the set more versatile and dynamic. We created 4 different sets as a marker for when the game autosaved and progressed to a new stage within the game.
In the end we had a QTE cooking challenge where I created the different stages of cooking. The process depended on which ingredients you managed to bring with you to the top and you were able to either fail or succeed with a stage such as melting chocolate, pouring flour etc which would influence what score you got in the end.
